Nothing compares to a little sunshine for lifting the spirits, as the days slowly get longer we find ourselves with extra time for exploring, lifting faces toward the rays of welcome light which have been so very rare over the winter.
Walking along the cycle paths in Lancaster is always such a pleasure; away from the noise and smells of vehicles, even the heart of the city is a little oasis. The recent closure of Greyhound Bridge has made the city centre so much more inviting for pedestrians and cyclists, if only the bridge could remain closed permanently !
Closer to home, our coastline has turned from its winterly steel-grey to shades of brilliant blue and bright spring green. After biting winds have forced rapid retreats, the warmer weather invites us to linger longer and enjoy the silver shimmer of a flock of knotts and the billowing sails of the boats in the bay.
